Terrain: CNC Workshop- Desert Buggies

No turret mounted HMGs or MLs... yet.
Some more scatter terrain for the coming tournament.

These are Desert Buggies from CNC Workshop.  I don't like them nearly as much as the Police Tactical Vehicle nor the Heavy Forklift for two main reasons.

1.  Irritating to assemble- Front suspension needing a lot of glue to weld to the rear suspension piece.
2. Overall blocky aesthetic- with obvious panels.

That being said, they are two vehicles to one pack and they'll do the job of being scatter terrain on the road.

If you are game to take on this kit (and it's not hard, just a bit annoying), then I'll give a few general tips.

1). Before assembly- I'd say to review the instruction manual on their construction very closely.

2). Front Wheel Housing/ Wheel:  assemble it, glue it and leave it to set completely.  Make sure that all the wheel parts are flat on a table surface and that the wheel housing all line up.

Try and keep those wheel housings level.

3). The Join between the front suspension and the rear suspension:  Pay particular attention to the tiny groove on the rear suspension area and the tiny tab on the bottom strut of the front suspension.  You'll need a lot of glue and fair bit of patience.

Front lower suspension strut (LEFT side), "Handle" facing up.

Front lower suspension strut, note the curvature of the interface between strut and rear assembly (teardrop shaped).

Once you've got those things under control, it's otherwise simple to assemble.

Rattlecan black- then masking tape applied.
And painting wise- with no airbrush at home and just rattle cans- it's ok with some poverty masking tape from the newsagent.

Pimping rides.
After gentle peeling off of masking tape, there was the inevitable edge highlighting and a bit of freehand (which looked wretched, so I stopped after one vehicle - LOL!) and a spray on varnish.

Drybrushed engines.
Standing room only
Until next time, Happy Hobbying.
