Empress Miniatures: British LSW and the Pseudo-Multicam Recipe

Table top standard.
Finished the last of my Empress Miniatures from 3 years ago.

What a good feeling... until I looked at the rest of my lead pile.

Modern Combat: SAS

Fancy gear... not even once.
Another batch of Empress Miniatures finally completed.

I wasn't a big fan of these figures but now they're painted I think they look OK.

The 'studio' miniatures were painted in civilian clothes however I am in a rush to paint my Unidrons for the Combined Army so I gave up trying to be original and painted these SAS in cam.

Modern Combat: British Javelin ATGM Team

Better than a pipe bomb.
I finished off the support pack from Empress Miniatures a week ago but the weather hasn't been good enough for photo taking.

I quite like the finished product- the yellow High Explosive colour band on the launcher gives it quite a nice look!

Empress Miniatures: British Infantry

Force on Force or Chain of Command: Fighting Season
Despite being run into the ground with a heinous work schedule, I've endeavoured to clean up my painting desk of models that have sat for THREE YEARS waiting for a paint job.

I was quite happy with progress... until I read that CoC requires thirty infantry!  THIRTY!  And not just grunts, but medics, combat engineers and bomb detection dog to boot.

I guess batch painting is the way to go then....

Modern Combat: Two British Riflemen

So apparently in the bright neon future of the 3rd Millenium, there is only war....
Another two Empress miniatures finished this week and needing some photographic treatment.

The squad is coming along nicely now with now 5 figures ready to shoot down some Zeds!

Empress Miniatures: Gunner with MAG58

Carrying a MAG58 variant
The gun has a cut down barrel.

I like the look of the camouflage on this guy better than the last shotgun toting miniature,

The main difference was that I painted all the base colours, the 'dashes' and then washed the whole thing in Athonian Camoshade.  I then did a few dashes in VMC Ivory to finish off the cam.  Then a light drybrush of VMC Buff finished it off.

Modern Combat: Empress Miniatures: British Infantryman

Testing, testing...
I haven't always been into science fiction- I dabbled a bit in historical war gaming too.

I've had a sections worth of UK infantry I bought almost 2 years ago from Empress Miniatures and it's been sitting on my desk for ages.  My stumbling block was I never knew how to paint Multicam- a dastardly scheme that makes 28mm miniatures look like blobs.

And being distinctly unimpressed with my latest Infinity miniature foray, I thought I'd take a quick break and test paint one of these historicals.
